FORTHEM Winter School 'Cellular Signaling - Dynamic Processes in Living Cells'

October 12-13, 2026 at Unipa in Palermo
The fifth Winter School within the framework of the FORTHEM Alliance, this year is organised by University of Palermo. It is a two-day hybrid training initiative designed for Master, and PhD students and promotes an inclusive and participatory learning environment open to all partner institutions.

The Winter school is hosted and organised by Prof. Valeria Alduina and Dr. Viviana Barra from the Department of Biological, Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technologies (STEBICEF). The central element of the program, as always, is co-creation: each lecture is jointly structured, with senior researchers providing conceptual and methodological
frameworks and students contributing with current research case studies. The scientific program is organized into four thematic sessions over two full days, combining lectures, discussions, and structured networking opportunities. Interactive components, including daily online quizzes and informal exchanges during breaks and social activities, are designed to stimulate peer learning, critical thinking, and cross-institutional dialogue.
