The Universitat de València wins, in its first participation, the sixth edition of the Reto30diasenbici, an initiate with the aim of promoting the use of bicycle as a mean of transportation amongst the university community.

The campaign Reto30diasenbici has taken place throughout the whole month of April. This initiative promotes the use of bicycle to encourage a more sustainable mobility. The challenge consisted of accumulating the most km possible in bicycle by the university community in the whole month. The distance was measured in an App.

The Universitat de València, with a total of 17383km by 260 participants, is the first one in a ranking of 22 universities. The gap between the rest of the universities has been crushing, given that the runner up university only had 3294km.

Thanks to this campaign, the Universitat de València has stopped emitting more than four tons of CO2 to the atmosphere and it places the bicycle as one of the preferred means of transportation by the university community to get to campus.

Within the individual ranking, the participant with the most kilometres was Pedro Salas Pavón, with a total of 939 km cycled. For this reason, the Delegate of Sustainability of the Universitat de València, Pilar Rueda, has given him a token of her appreciation of his participation and effort.

The Vice-rectorate of Equality, Diversity and Sustainability is thankful to all the university community for their implication in the initiative and they declare their compromise with a more sustainable, non-polluting and healthy mobility.
