The Universitat de València organises the “Conèixer la Universitat” programme with the aim of bringing the Universitat closer to high schools and showing future students its educational offer and services.
“Conèixer la Universitat” is an initiative of the Office of the Vice-Principal for Studies that is coordinated by the Information and Promotion Service (Sedi) and has the participation of the centres and services of the Universitat de València.
Graduates in Nursing collaborate to improve the living conditions, health and well-being of the population to which they provide services, and they act according to scientific, humanistic and ethical principles based on respect for life, gender equality, the environment and human dignity. Through their knowledge and skills, they contribute to promoting and protecting health, preventing disease, maintaining and restoring health of individuals, families and the community, by providing comprehensive care.
Nurses are experts in the provision of care and the care of sick and dependent persons; they carry out the procedures of clinical and care practice, whether in primary care services, hospital services or social and health care services. As members of a health team in home care they act as a link between primary and specialised care. They provide health information to individuals, families and groups. By diagnosing the health of the population, they locate social and health needs, identify groups of people exposed to risk factors and mobilise community resources to involve the community in solving their problems. They also intervene in planning, organisation and control activities in the health administration, in the continuous training of professionals and students. In addition, they carry out documentary and field research tasks and develop their own and interdisciplinary research programmes and projects.

The aim of the Degree in Podiatry is training professionals with the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to prevent, diagnose and treat foot-related conditions. Thanks to their general knowledge on human body and the specialised training in feet, podiatrists can work alongside other specialists to provide patients with a specific and effective diagnosis and treatment.
In accordance with the current regulations for podiatry profession, the areas of professional activity are sharply defined. Graduates in podiatry can thus practice clinical activities for the diagnosis and treatment of foot deformities and diseases, both in the public and private sectors. In addition, job opportunities also include manufacture and adaptation of prostheses, implementation of health prevention plans, as well as legal expertise and professional consultancy for sports clubs.

Nowadays and similarly to other health sciences fields, the training of nurses through degree university studies has made possible that the nursing professionals get a sufficient competence level of general nature.
Due to the scientific and technologic advance, the practice of nursing is evolving towards the need of a bigger specific knowledge and autonomy within the health world. Within this variety, the current Master’s Degree aims to widen the medical care and management training in Oncology Nursing that require a specific training to get a more efficient employment inclusion. On the other hand, regarding this greater autonomy that nursing has reached within the last decades, it is important standing out that other essential objective of this Master’s Degree is addressed to promote the researcher training of the oncology nursing professionals to allow for the entry to Doctoral Studies for Nursing cycles, already in place at the Universitat de València.
Therefore, the current Master’s Degree aims to form and promote both the assistance functions of nurses in the assistance field related to the care of the oncology patient and those tasks related to the management and research within oncology.Graduates in Nursing or equivalent.
In the case of students with specific educational needs due to disability, the Master's Academic Coordinating Committee will be responsible for seeking appropriate support and counselling services. They shall assess the need for possible curricular adaptations.

1.- ACADEMIC RECORD, Maximum 15 points
1. Degree or Diplomate Academic record in Nursing. (Average mark over 10).
Other Degrees (1 point per each Level MECES 2 Degree and 2 points per MECES 3 Degree).
2.- RESEARCH, Maximum 15 points
2.1 INDEXEDED Publications, Maximum 3 points
Articles in national/international specialised journals, books, book chapters with ISBN (up to 0.5 points per publication).
2.2 RESEARCH PROJECTS, Maximum 2 points
Participation in R&D projects from autonomic/national/international university competitive public calls (up to 0.5 points per year).
2.3 PARTICIPATION IN CONGRESSES, Maximum 2.5 points
Contributions to national/international congresses (up to 0.5 point per contribution)
2.4 OTHER MERITS, Maximum 2.5 points
Other publications, transfer of research results, research stays (up to 0.5 points per contribution)
3 WORK EXPERIENCE, Maximum 5 points
0.1 points per complete month worked*.
*Work experience within the are of oncology nursing will be valued with 0.3 points per complete month worked.
4 MOTIVATION (LETTER), Maximum 2 points
5 INTERVIEW (only if there is a tie), Maximum 1 point
Personal interview will be only in case of a tie between two or more applicants to the position and will have a discriminatory value. However
, if the admission of candidates with a tie does not represent more than 10% of total vacancies, the Academic Coordinating Committee (CCA) can decide de admission of all of them.
