The Chair for Comic Studies SM Foundation-Universitat de València participated in the summer course ‘How to understand culture and contemporary’, organised by the Catholic University of Valencia, with a lecture given by its director Álvaro M. Pons.

The Catholic University of Valencia organises these annual summer courses in which experts in different subjects participate. In the field of humanities, one of the main axes is 'Cómo entender la cultura y el arte contemporáneo' (How to understand culture and contemporary art), with talks aimed at professionals, PhDs, graduates and students of Art History, Philosophy, Multimedia and Digital Arts, with the aim of teaching them tools that will allow them to judge and assess contemporary cultural language. This course, directed by Professor Catalina Martín, will be attended by specialists such as Iban Ramón, Rafael Maluenda, Guillermo Gómez-Ferrer or Arturo Encinas.

One of the lectures of the Legends of this course, held on 16 July, was 'Nuevos caminos del cómic: de los museos a la abstracción' (New paths of comic: from museums to abstraction), taught by Álvaro M.
