Within the framework of the I Congress of Innovation and Advanced Management in Training for Employment, a roundtable was held dedicated to the evaluation of the impact of active employment policies in the Valencian Community, in which the DevStat Chair of the Universitat de València has participated.

On October 2 and 3, this congress was held that brought together technical and employment staff, responsible for the SERVEF and different institutions and representatives of the private company, with the objective of sharing and discussing the different measures and applications of active policies in training for employment in the Valencian environment. A round table, moderated by Antonio Ariño (vice-principal of Culture and Equality of the Universitat de València), was included in the program of this event, in which the UV Chair of the DevStat was represented by its director José Vila and by Yolanda Gómez, responsible for Data Science and researcher associated to the chair.

The main theme of this round table was to argue about the impact on active politics of employment in the Valencian Community through the statistical analysis and the ‘Big Data’ use, with the purpose of optimizing as much as possible the measures and applications of employment search policies to promote levels of employability. For this, the current policies of the SERVEF and the socio-demographic profiles of the job seekers and the participants in the training activities were analyzed.

According to the findings of the studies carried out by the DevStat Chair, active employment policies have had a positive impact, both in employability and in terms of employment. However, they seem less effective in terms of achieving a stable job, since many times the actions are linked to temporary contracts.
