On April 27th, the University of Valencia’s School of Engineering (ETSE-UV) hosted a new talk on Girls4STEM, a project designed to promote STEM vocations (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) particularly among girls.

This series of conferences, open to the public and hosted by the Girls4STEM project, scheduled a special session last Thursday, April 27th at 4:30pm during the #ForoEmpleo (Employment Forum) at ETSE-UV. This session was dedicated to sponsor Ángela Pérez Pérez, a UV graduate in Biological Sciences with a Master’s in Business Management and an Executive Master’s in Innovation. She is currently the executive vice-president of Health in Code, and in 2022 she was recognised as entrepreneur of the year at the Rei Jaume I Awards.

The conferences took place among the activities of #SI2023 (IT Week 2023) at the Official College of Computer Science Engineering of the Valencian Region.

The goal of these discussions was to shine the spotlight on female professionals and their careers within STEM fields in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Experts at this conference included Beatriz Ruiz Casanova, Patricia Ramón Tadghighi, and Ana Bueno Gimeno.

The main objective of Girls4STEM project is to promote STEM vocations amid the general public, but especially among girls.

The event took place along with other activities organized by the Girls4STEM project via the ETSE-UV,, the office of the Vice-Principal of Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Policies, the Equality Unit, and the office of the Vice-Principal of Innovation and Knowledge Transfer at the University of Valencia. Additionally, it was funded by the Valencia Employment Services (LABORA) of the Valencian Government.
