On 7 October the second edition of the DINAMIZA gathering took place. This initiative, promoted by the Youth Chair of the Universitat de València, aims to connect researchers from different faculties of the UV who work with teenagers and young people as the central axis of their research.

The session, conducted by Daniel Gil, brought together around 20 researchers, as well as Vicent Ripoll, the General Director of the Valencian Institute for Young People (IVAJ). It was used as a way to build professional network, share experiences and create synergies between the university and the community.

The gathering is part of the DINAMIZA project, which aims to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge transfer in academic and professional fields of youth. During the session, participants worked on how to establish effective collaborations between university research and municipal technical teams, as well as the key factors that facilitate or complicate these processes.

The programme of the gathering included a panel discussion about an experience of collaboration of the academic field and professionals who work with youth, focused on PROTESEXT programme:  Intervention proposal on the prevention of sexting practices and experiences of sexual victimisation in a group of young people in the protection system. Moreover, there was an interactive activity to present the motivations of the research in which each participant created their own “announcement” for the network’s notice board. This tool is designed to facilitate the contact and the collaboration between researchers and professionals working with youth.

This initiative helps to create a consolidated interdisciplinary research community of youth, promoting knowledge transfer and the creation of shared projects that strengthen public policies and intervention with youth.

From the Youth Chair UV, we continue to work to revitalise, connect and promote research in youth, creating suitable meeting spaces between the academic and professional worlds to generate real impact in the community.
