Valeria Castro will host the Girls4STEM Family Talk on 1 June

During the event, the awards of the 4th Edition of the Girls4STEM Project will be given

The Girls4STEM Project has programmed on 1 June at 5 p.m. a Family talk dedicated to Valeria Castro, video games developer, founder and CEO of Platonic Games and President of DEV, asociación de empresas desarrolladoras de videojuegos (video games developers business association).

The talk will take place in the CaixaForum of Valencia. To get access, previous registration on https://go.uv.es/girls4stem/valeria is needed. The reception will start at 5 p.m. with a free snack. An online broadcast of the event will be transmitted from 5:30 p.m. on the Girls4STEM YouTube channel.

The Family talk is the finished work of the centres, teaching staff and students that participated in this Girsl4STEM edition. It is the moment where all the participants (STEM experts, teaching staff, students and families) meet.  In addition, the students will get the opportunity to explain how the elaboration process was and to comment how their impressions on the STEM branches have changed during this process.

The winning centres of this 4th Edition of the Girls4STEM Awards will be announced during the event, and their effort and achievements will be acknowledged.

Those who attend the Family talk in person will get free access to two exhibitions of the CaixaForum: "Apollo 11. la llegada del hombre a la luna" (Apollo 11. man landing on the Moon) and "Tattoo. Arte bajo la piel“ (Tattoo: art under the skin).  And for the assisting students there will be a raffle of additional gifts, provided by the collaborating entities.

The talk is framed within the activities organised by Girls4STEM  from the ETSE-UV, the Vice-Principal for Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Policies, the Equality Unit and Vice-Principal for Innovation and Transference of the Universitat de València. It has the support and financing from the Servicio Valenciano de Empleo (Valencian Job Centre) (LABORA) of the Valencian Government.

The Girls4STEM project’s main goal is to promote interest in the STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) among the general public, but particularly among young women.
