
Paterna, June 2025 – Last Monday 16 June, Caixa Popular hosted a new workshop at the Technology Park, organised by the Chair for Agri-food Cooperatives of the Universitat de València and focused on the role of people in agri-food cooperatives.
The workshop started at 10:00 a.m. with a work breakfast and included the presentation of the book: ‘Mitos (y realidades) del cooperativismo agroalimentario’ [Myths (and facts) on agri-food cooperatives] by Tomás Rojas Pacheco. Then, a panel discussion on taxation and contribution for members of agri-food cooperatives, community land and exploitation cooperatives and Agrarian Transformation Societies (ATS) took place.
Amongst the speakers were:
- María Pilar Bonet Sánchez, full university professor of Financial and Tax Law (UV)
- Manuel Alegre Nueno, full university professor of Labour and Social Security Law (UV)
The institutional opening of the event was carried out by:
- Pilar Alguacil Marí, head of the Chair
- Enrique Bellés Llopis, head of Cooperatives Agroalimentaries CV
- Andrés Lluch Figueres, head of Labour, Cooperatives and Occupational Safety (GVA)
At 12:00 p.m. an interview focused on work integration for immigrant people in the agri-food sector took place, with the participation of the representatives of Cooperatives Agroalimentaries CV and the Ministry of Inclusion.
The workshop ended at 1:00 p.m. with:
- Cirilo Arnandis Nuñez, chairman of Cooperatives Agroalimentaries CV
- Mª Àngels Ramón-Llín, head of de Agricultural and livestock production of the Valencian government (Generalitat Valenciana).
The free registration and on-site event gathered people from the academic, institutional and cooperative worlds to reflect on the present and future of valencian agri-food cooperatives.
