The Youth Chair of the Universitat de València has been actively participating during this academic year in the mentoring program ‘Entreiguals’, an initiative of the Office of the Vice-Principal for Employment and Training Programmes the objective of which is to support new students in their adaptation process to university life, through a support network among their peers.

In this edition, the Chair has actively participated in the training process of three mentoring groups made up of students of different degrees of the Universitat de València. Mentors have received training to be able to support, guide and motivate new students as well as exchange students who join the University for the first time.

During their training, they have worked on key points to be able to effectively support students in their adaptation process. Among these, the highlights are the use of university resources, personal and academic organisation, study techniques and participation in complementary activities. Moreover, spaces for reflexion and exchange among peers have been created, which contributes to reinforce an empathic and inclusive attitude and also committed to the university community.

The participation of the Chair in this programme happened due to its commitment to the wellbeing, participation and complete development of youth in the university sphere. At the same time, it is an opportunity for students to develop transversal skills such as interpersonal communication, responsibility, empathy and teamwork, all of them key elements to their future as professionals.
