The Chair of Business and Humanism of the University of Valencia is a meeting space between the university, businesses, and society aimed at promoting a vision of economic activity committed to sustainability and social responsibility.
Promoted by the Directorate-General for Economy of the Regional Ministry of Economy, Finance and Public Administration, the Chair works together with Valencian institutions to make sustainability a key driver of competitiveness within the business and organizational fabric of the Valencian Community.
The central focus of this collaboration is support for the Registry of Socially Responsible Valencian Entities (SIR Registry): providing technical advice to companies, cooperatives, non-profit organizations, and public bodies for their integration into the system, updating their indicators in line with European regulations, and developing tools that simplify the accreditation process —such as the data bridge with Report for Good. In 2023, the Chair organized the 1st Meeting of Socially Responsible Valencian Entities, with more than 175 participants. In 2025, we participated as keynote speakers at the 2nd Meeting of Socially Responsible Valencian Entities, attended by nearly 350 organizations. We are currently working on projects to improve access for any organization, regardless of its size or sector, to sustainability management systems and to reduce the barriers that hinder their adoption within the Valencian productive sector.
This activity is complemented by extensive knowledge transfer work with our two co-sponsors: together with Caixa Popular, we organize workshops and conferences aimed at SMEs to bring social responsibility and sustainability closer to everyday business practice; together with Seidor, we promote studies on the state of digital transformation in Valencian organizations in order to guide improvement strategies adapted to the reality of the region.
