On 29 June the new Chair for Economy for the Common Good of the Universitat de València will be officially presented. The event, which will start at 16.30, will take place at the assembly hall of the Office of the Principal Building and will be attended by different political and academic personalities.

The institutional presentation of the Chair will be conducted by the Councillor for Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Trade and Work of the Valencian Government, Rafael Climent; the Vice-Principal for Internationalisation and Cooperation of the Universitat de València, Guillermo Palao; the Dean of the Faculty of Economics UV, José Manuel Pastor; the Head of the ‘Juan José Renau Piqueras’ Department of Business Management, Juan Francisco Martínez Pérez; and the President of the Valencian Association of Economy for the Common Good, María Amigo Pérez.

After the presentation, a conference will be given by Christian Felber, creator of the concept of Economy for the Common Good. The title of the conference is “Economy for the Common Good: present and future”. This conference will be moderated by Francisco Álvarez Molina, Managing Director of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Cooperativism of the Valencian Department for Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Trade and Work of the Valencian Government, and presented by Joan Ramon Sanchis Palacio, director of the Chair for Economy for the Common Good of the Universitat de València.

The main aim of the Chair is to disseminate values and principles of ECG, giving general interest and common good priority in front of particular interests, and individuals and work before capital and money. The Chair intends to create a space for debate and discussion that questions the current model and proposes sustainable alternatives from an economic, social and ecological point of view.
