The University of Valencia will host the 4th International Conference on the Musical Heritage of the Crown of Aragon.
The conference, entitled "The Musical Heritage of the Crown of Aragon. Musicians: From Individuality to Collectivity," will be held at La Nau Cultural Center from March 27 to 29, under the direction of Rosa Isusi Fagoaga (IUCIE) and Francesc Villanueva Serrano.
The biennial event, organized by the Comes Cultural Association, will feature numerous presentations by experts from different universities, debates, a Capella de Ministrers concert, and a roundtable discussion.
It will open with a keynote address by Clara Bejarano, and recent advances will be presented through 17 presentations grouped into five sessions and nine open communications, in which several researchers will report on the latest results of their studies on the Crown of Aragon.
This academic event is a pioneering initiative in approaching the shared musical history of the territories that formed part of this political and cultural entity, which lasted from the 12th to the 18th centuries.
The roundtable "Programming, Communication, and Dissemination of Musical Heritage" will feature Sergio Pagán, radio program editor; César Rus, music critic; Senén Florensa, Director General of the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed); and Carles Magraner, Director of Capella de Ministrers.
