The book "Romà de la Calle, Medalla de la Universitat de València" about the honorary professor and founder of the IUCIE is now available in the Publications Service.

Since he began as an assistant professor at the University of Valencia in 1968, Romà de la Calle (Alcoi, 1942) has taught Logic, Philosophy and Aesthetics, a subject in which he would become a professor and the subject of almost a hundred doctoral theses of which he was director or co-director. As a researcher, he has published dozens of books and hundreds of articles in specialist and general journals. As a manager, he has assumed, among other responsibilities, that of director of the Institute of Creativity and Educational Innovations  of the UV, which he himself helped to found together with Professor Ricardo Marín Ibáñez. He was also the founder of the Centre de Documentació d’Art Valencià Contemporani, which today bears his name. In the field of knowledge transfer, his work branches out and extends across multiple scenarios: the direction of the MuVIM and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos, participation in the governing council of the IVAM or the organization and direction of the Master of Aesthetics and Musical Creativity and the Postgraduate Degree in Artistic Education and Museums of the UV. His contribution in all these areas, his ability to organize teams and his skill to connect with students and public and private cultural managers have been recognized with the highest distinction of the UV, the Medal of the University, which was awarded to him on February 3, 2017.
