Graduated in the Master’s degree - Class 2013-2014

My interest in the audiovisual field led me to search a Master’s degree that combined theory with practice, where I could learn, strengthen and refresh my knowledge in this area. In the Master’s Degree in Audiovisual Contents and Formats of the UV I found it.

Since I am Colombian, changing countries is always a great challenge. In addition to the constant cultural exchange, the academic and investment expectation involved in a Master’s degree outside your country is always high.

From the very moment I contacted to ask for information about the Master’s degree and during the inscription and enrolment process, Luis Cano, administrative of the Master’s degree, was very proactive and thoughtful with the process.

This Master’s degree is really well structured. The first 3 months are mostly theoretical and the other 4 are practical, where all the knowledge is put together in order to construct, produce and perform the final project. The presentation of the project is performed in the Sessions CONTD/TVMORFOSIS, which offer the possibility of expound it in front of producers and directors of Spanish TV channels.

Also, teachers are highly qualified, have a lot of experience in the sector and look after the development and learning of each student.

The Master’s degree offers the possibility of doing an internship in an enterprise from the audiovisual sector. I did it in TAU, the UV’s Audiovisual Workshop, where I learned a lot. Officials have all the patience and willingness to help and teach, and they also have great human quality.

I had the opportunity to work in the TAU after finishing my internship; I started with the assembly of the workshop’s audiovisual archive (TAU) and then continued in the organisation of the Ibero-American television event TVMORFOSIS, which was coming to Spain for the first time.

After returning to Colombia, the work experience in Valencia and having studied this Master’s degree has helped me to lead different audiovisual projects in which I’m still participating so far. Also, I have received a call for organizing another version of TVMORFOSIS, this time in Barranquilla.
