Description and characteristics

The Master in Business Strategy is designed to prepare specialists, top managers and middle managers who work closely with executives, providing their specific knowledge and analytical skills for the development of competitive and corporate strategies. The master also offers a research itinerary that facilitates the acquisition of the competences required for researchers in this field, enabling the access to the program of Doctorate in Business Management at the University of Valencia.

A professional in business strategy advises and offers effective responses to the needs of companies in their decision-making as regards the design and implementation of strategies such as internationalization, alliances, mergers and acquisitions, business turnaround or strategic change in the organization. Excellent management is achieved by thinking strategically: it is not enough to rely on a good technical profile. It is increasingly necessary to trust professionals capable of seeing what others do not see in your organization: detect areas for improvement, design possible ways to compete and generate competitive advantages in the long term, always from a social responsibility perspective.

In the complex times we are facing, having specialists in business strategy in a company is essential to assess the changing conditions of the environment, analyse the scenarios and reconfigure your business model such that it can be sustainable over time. The different subjects of the Master in Business Strategy are taught either in Spanish or English in multicultural groups, reinforcing the communication skills of the students. In course 20-21 the Master in Business Strategy becomes part of the Mentoring Club of the Faculty of Economics. Club members, as leading business experts, serve as mentors to master students and offer them valuable experience and guidance for the development of their future professional careers.

Main characteristics

  • • Duration: 60 ECTS credits (1 full-time academic year: 1500 hours of student work). Part-time students can complete the master in 2 years (30 credits per year)

    • Languages: Classes are taught in Spanish and English.

    The academic itinerary of the master's degree will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to effectively formulate and implement corporate and competitive strategies in any company. The research itinerary will introduce you in the world of research on business management and strategy, giving you the cmopetences to carry out high-quality research on the frontier of knowledge and develop a teaching career in prestigious universities, both national and international.

Two key elements differentiate us: 1) we are the first official university master's degree specialized in the challenges of formulating and implementing corporate and competitive strategies for companies. Our specialist approach encompasses both the processes, methods and tools necessary for decision-making and the development of a strategic approach, as well as the skills necessary for effective implementation of these strategies; 2) We count on a high percentage of external business professionals (approximately 40%) who regularly participate in the master.
