Students of the Master’s Degree of Chemistry visit the desalination plant in Xàbia on 10 December. This is the first desalination plant of the world that works with reverse osmosis. It dilutes reject brine in order to minimise environmental impact in Xàbia, Alacant. Water is desalinated until it is safe to be used by people. This plants supplies around 150.000 inhabitants in this area thanks to its capacity of 28.000 cubic meters per day.
