
The professor of the Master's Degree in Economic Policy and Public Economics, along with Gerdt Sundström, emeritus professor at the University of Jönkoping (Sweden), has published a study in the specialist journal “Entre Mayores”.
Under the title "Una epidemia de soledad... o qué?" the authors draw on their experience from familistic Spain and individualistic Sweden to analyse the common stereotype that those who live alone, about half of them being elderly people, feel lonely.
Professor Mª Ángeles Tortosa is a graduate in Economics and doctor in Economics from the Universitat de València. Tenured professor in the Department of Applied Economics at the Universitat de València since 1988, specialising in public economics. She has published several publications in journals, presented papers at national and international congresses, and has directed and participated in research projects and contracts with private entities in the field of social services and the elderly, among others. She has also been treasurer of the Valencian Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology 2008-2010. And, lastly, she was director of the Master's Degree in Economic Policy and Public Economics at the Faculty of Economics of the Universitat de València (2017- 2020).
