The economic policy studies analyse the importance of the State intervention in economy. Currently, there are not pure market economies, on the contrary, contemporary societies have mixed economies whose functioning is not understood without the presence of the State in economy. In the end, economic activities are developed in an institutional framework highly configured by the regulation and intervention of the State.

The demand of qualified professionals in the specific area of public intervention (as a political-economic analyst) is required by several entities such as; international organisations, European institutions, central and local administrations, city councils, councils, independent bodies, research centres, consultant’s offices, studies services for large companies and banks, social organisations, labour and business organisations, NGOs, etc.

The Master’s Degree in Economic Policy and Public Economy offers an advanced training programme for high level specialists in economic policy and public economics who will be able to interpret the possibilities and consequences of State intervention in economy. Its content includes an interdisciplinary perspective with political, economic and social dimensions in the analysis of the economic challenges of our time and its alternatives. Also, given the importance of the current globalisation process, the programme places special emphasis on the economic policies of international relations.
