The second conference on policies and management of educational organisations will be held on 1 and 2 June

The Faculty of Philosophy and Educational Sciences of the Universitat de València (UV) is hosting this meeting for the second year in a row, which aims to provide a glimpse of the challenges that the current management function faces in educational centres.

Registrations are now open for the 2nd edition of this conference, which started last year with a great success of participation. The Master's Degree in Policies, Administration and Management of Educational Organisations of the UV, is once again organising this meeting, with the financial support of the Faculty of Philosophy and Education Sciences and the Department of Education and School Management of the UV. L’assistència és gratuïta però es requereix inscripció prèvia, que ha de formalitzar-se online abans del 27 de maig. 

The conference will be held in the Main Hall of the Faculty of Philosophy and Educational Sciences. The presentation will take place on Thursday 1 June, at 5:00 p.m., by the Regional Secretary for Education and Vocational Training, Miguel Soler Graciathe Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Educational Sciences, Rosa M. Bo; and the Director of the Master’s Degree in Policies, Administration and Management of Educational Organisations, Mª Amparo Calatayud.

This will be followed by the inaugural conference entitled “Between academia and educational policy: reflections from the intrahistory of the LOMLOE”. This opening talk will be given by Alejandro Tiana Ferrerformer Secretary of State for Education and Emeritus Professor at the Spanish National University of Distance Learning (UNED). Luis Miguel Lázarofull university professor of the Department of Comparative Education and History of Education at the UV, will moderate the conference.

The meeting will continue with a round table discussion, moderated by Professor Eliseo Valle (Dept. of Teaching and Scholastic Organisation, UV), on successful experiences in educational management in primary and secondary schools. Participants will include María Inmaculada Vaquero García, Education Inspector of the Regional Directorate of Valencia; Vicent Mañes Bertolín, Principal of CEIP Bertomeu Lorens i Royo (Catarroja) and President of the Federation of Associations of Principals of Pre-school and Primary Education Public Centres at state level (FEDEIP); and Toni González Picornell, Principal of the IES Pare Vitòria (Alcoy) and President of the Spanish Association of Secondary School Principals (ADIEPV).

On Friday 2 June, the day will start with a round table on experiences to change the invisible in the management and direction of educational organisations. Professor Laura García (Dept. of Theory of Education, UV) will moderate this round table with the participation of Pablo Mascaró Jalón, Principal of the “Mare de Déu dels Desemparats i dels Innocents” Centre for Minors (Torrent); Ana Moreno Cabanes, Principal of the “Sed-vies” Centre for Children and Adolescents; and Rosa Algarra Rodríguez, President of the Association for Cooperation between Communities (ACOEC).

The last round table will revolve around the title “Different views on the Master's external internships: the voice of the students”. Professor María Amparo Calatayud (Dept. of Teaching and Scholastic Organisation) will moderate this talk, followed by the official closing ceremony of the conference.
