Duration:
60 ECTS (One academic year full-time: 1,500 hours of student work). The Master’s also can be made in two academic years part-time (30 credits per year).

Face to face modality.

Approach:

The students of the Master’s will obtain knowledge and skills for the Administration and Management of Cooperatives and Non-profit organisations of Social Economy in its different areas: economic, legal, fiscal, accounting, employment, strategic, commercial, human resources, financial, etc.; and for the different types of organisations that form Social Economy. The students can choose between two specialisations; the Specialisation in Cooperatives and Labour Societies and the Specialisation in Non-Profit organisations. They must take 30 credits of academic nature (compulsory) and 24 credits of professional nature (the specialisation of 15 credits plus 9 credits of work placement), plus 6 credits of the Master’s Degree Final Project.
Once the students have completed the 60 credits of the Master’s, they can make the Doctoral Studies in Social Economy

Who is addressed for the Master’s?

The target audience of the Master’s Degree in Social Economy:

  • Professionals and managers of companies and organisation of Social and Cooperative Economy, who want to improve their levels of training and that wish to update their skills.
  • University students (graduates or holders of a licenciatura (Spanish former Undergraduate degree) ) who wish to specialise in the field of Social Economy

Work Placements in Social Economy companies:

The Master’s includes a work placement module, through which the students can complete 9 credits (250 hours) in a Social Economy company or organisation with which the University of Valencia has agreements of collaboration. The professionals that are taking the Master’s can opt for the Autopracticum, that is to say, the hours of work in their own company can be counted as work placement hours.

Mobility and exchange of students and professors:

The student will have the possibility of taking some subjects of the Master’s in other universities that offer a Master’s of similar characteristics. In the same way, the Master’s will accept professors of those universities for teaching some subjects or seminars in our Master’s.

Also a series of conferences about career opportunities in Social Economy will be held during May.

Research connection between IUDESCOOP and CIRIEC-Spain:

The students who completed the Master’s successfully (in its academic-research profile) can remain connected with IUDESCOOP through the educational portal (only for former students of Postgraduate courses of IUDESCOOP), as well as with CIRIEC-Spain, they can attend and participate in the different scientific and research events that this organisation makes (National Conferences of Researchers in Social and Cooperative Economy, International Congress of CIRIEC, Seminars, etc.)
