Speaker: Dr. Félix Moruno Manchón

Title: “Identification of Molecular Factors Involved in Cerebrovascular Aging”

Venue and time: July 17, 2:00 p.m., Sala Gisbert (Department of Legal Medicine, Floor E2).

Dr. Moruno Manchón completed his PhD under the supervision of Dr. Erwin Knecht at the Príncipe Felipe Research Center in Valencia (2008–2013), where he studied the regulation of autophagy by glucose. He subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Texas in Houston (2014–2019), working on projects focused on the dysregulation of autophagy and DNA damage as mechanisms involved in neurodegeneration, using models of Huntington’s disease.

At the Department of Neurology of the same institution, he began developing his own research line focused on identifying the molecular mechanisms underlying aging of the neurovascular system. He currently leads his own laboratory and research group, which have been established through continuous funding from organizations including the National Institutes of Health, the American Heart Association, and the Texas Alzheimer’s Research and Care Consortium.
