“miRNAs in cardiovascular research and their potential as new therapeutic strategies to halt atherosclerosis”

Dr. Rotllán Vila completed her PhD at the Institut de Recerca of Hospital de Sant Pau. She subsequently carried out her postdoctoral training in the United States, first at NYU (3.5 years) and then at Yale (6 years). In 2019, she returned to Spain with a Ramón y Cajal contract as an independent researcher within the group of Pathophysiology of Lipid-Related Diseases, where she is currently established as an R3-level researcher.

Her main research lines focus on lipid metabolism, atherosclerosis, and miRNAs, as well as the development of new therapies targeting atherosclerotic plaques.
