Anna Lluch      Department of Medicine (Universitat de València) and the Hospital Clínico Universitario, Valencia.

Anna Lluch graduated in Medicine by the Universitat de València and specialised in Haematology and Medical Oncology in the Hospital Clínico Universitario of Valencia. In 1985, she obtained her Doctorate from the Universitat de València. She has worked as a guest researcher in the Istituto Nazionale dei tumor of Milan, thel Laboratorio de Biología Experimental and the Hospital MD Anderson Cancer Center of Houston. She is Full Professor of Medicine in the Universitat de València and chief of the Haematology and Oncology Service of the Hospital Clínico Universitario of Valencia.  She is a member of the Sociedad Española de Oncología Médica, of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, of the Sociedad Española de Senología and of the Fundación de Estudios Mastològics. She has worked as an adviser of the Early Detection of Breast Cancer Programme, member of the Comité Asesor del Plan del Cáncer and the Comité Asesor del Programa de Cáncer Hereditario in Valencia.  She is also researcher in the Fundación de Investigación of the Hospital Clínico and of the Unidad de Investigación Clínica de Cáncer de Mama of the Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Oncológicas. In 2014, she received the High Distinction of the Generalitat to the scientific merit and in 2010 she was honored with the Medalla of the Universitat de València.

Avelino Corma

Avelino Croma studied Chemistry in the Universitat de València and he obtained his doctorate from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1976. After that, he incorporated to the Chemical Engineering Department of the Queen's University of Canada, and in 1979 she entered to the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), becoming an investigation teacher of the CSIC in 1987. In 1990, he founded the Instituto de Tecnología Química (ITQ), a mixed investigation centre between the CSIC and the Universitat Politècnica de València, being its director until 2010. Since 2012, he is a member of the Royal Society and, among other distinctions, in 2011 he received the Grande Medaille of the Académie des sciences of France and the High Distinction of the Generalitat Valencianana to the scientific merit, and in 2014 the Princess of Asturias Awards to the Scientific and Technological  Investigation. His research has focused on the creation of materials with new industrial applications, such as catalysts and sustainable catalytic processes in the field of the hydrocarbon refining and the derived of biomass.

María José Sanz                                                                 

Basque Centre to the Climatic Change (BC3), Bilbao

María José Sanz studied Biology in the Universitat de València. She obtained her doctorate in the Botanical Department of the same university in 1985, where she was a teacher since 1996. She realized stays of investigation in the Arizona State University and the Forest Service in Riverside (United States). Since 1992, she occupied several investigation positions in the Mediterranean Center for Environmental Studies (CEAM), y from 2007 to 2011 she worked in the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) in Bonn. Between 2012 and 2015, she has coordinated the UNREDD (United Nations collaborative initiative donde Reducing Emisiones from Deforestation and Forest Degradation) programme, the Forestry Department of the FAO (Geneva). From 2000 to 2007, she was member of the Spanish delegation for the UNFCCC and in 2007, a member of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the UNFCCC for Europe. Between 2001 and 2006, she was a member of the Spanish delegation in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). As a member of the IPCC, she received the Peace Nobel Prize in 2007. Between 2011 and 2012, she assumed the scientific lead of the Instituto de Investigación sobre Cambio Climático of Zaragoza. She is a specialist in the effects of atmospheric contamination on vegetation, as well as in the scientific and political bases and the activities related to the climatic change since 2016. She is the Scientific Director of the Basque Centre to the Climatic Change (BC3), Bilbao.
