Physicist Gabriela Barenboim will explain the operation and properties of neutrinos, the most abundant particles in the universe

The talk “Benditos Neutrinos” will take place at the House of Science of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) on November 2, at 7:00 p.m. The intention of the physicist Gabriela Barenboim with this informative talk is to make known the operation of neutrinos, the most abundant elementary particles in the universe and that function as its messengers, due to the interest in their properties and the great ignorance about them.

Neutrinos are produced throughout the different stages of the universe. In addition, they are usually classified as elusive due to the difficulty of their experimental observation. Despite this, they are the only ones that have successfully challenged the Standard Model of particle physics, which demonstrates the need to generate new theories that explain their behaviour.

Gabriela Barenboim is a professor at the Department of Theoretical Physics at the University of Valencia (UV) and a researcher at the Institute of Corpuscular Physics (IFIC), a mixed centre of the UV and the CSIC. She has also been awarded the “idea” award for Research in basic sciences.
