The Ombuds Office and the vice officers attended the 9th Meeting of university grievance Ombuds officers, defendants and mediators within the Xarxa Vives d’Universitats, on 7 and 8 July, at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). The activity developed within the frame of the Forum Vives and counted with the participation of 25 representatives from the 14 universities within the network.
The meeting started with a welcoming act which counted with the presence of Pere Fabra, General Secretary and former Ombuds Officer of the UOC.
On Friday 8, the working sessions took place. Catalonia’s Ombuds Oficer Rafael Ribó and that of the UOC, Agustí Cerrillo, made an introduction at the first working session which centered on the contribution of officers to the promotion of university transparency. The second session dealt with the role of such officers when technology is introduced to the classroom; it was introduced by Juanjo Martí, head of the Support to the Director Office at the UOC’s Area of Technology and by Miguel Peguera, professor of Trade Law. After each session, there a debate among all attendees was carried out.
