The department, for the optimisation of its duties, is organised into three teaching units that are:

• TEACHING UNIT OF MUSIC AND TEACHING OF MUSICAL EXPRESSION (Areas of knowledge of Music and Teaching of Musical Expression)
• TEACHING UNIT OF TEACHING OF ARTS EDUCATION (Area of knowledge of Teaching of Arts Education)
• TEACHING UNIT OF TEACHING OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION (Area of knowledge of Teaching of Corporal Expression)

It consists of 59 professors and teachers, 1 research staff and 3 members from the administrative and service staff.

The department is the body responsible for coordinating the teaching according to the schedule of the University and for the promotion of research and other university activities concerning the areas of knowledge mentioned above.
