The 22-26 graduating class of the Bachelor's Degree in Geography and Environment at the University of Valencia celebrated their graduation, highlighting the role of Geography in understanding the territory and addressing environmental and social challenges
The Joan Fuster Hall at the Faculty of Geography and History hosted the graduation ceremony for the 2022-2026 graduating class of the Bachelor's Degree in Geography and Environment on June 26. The ceremony, presided over by the Dean, Manuel Lomas, brought together faculty, family, and friends to celebrate the new geographers at the end of their university studies.
The class's sponsor, Pilar Peñarrubia, Head of the Department of Geography and a professor in the program, emphasized that obtaining the degree marks the culmination of one stage and the beginning of another in which the students will put their acquired skills into practice. He also wished them all the best for the future and reminded them that the Faculty will always be their home.
The class's patron, Professor Ghaleb Fansa, recalled that this generation has experienced complex circumstances, such as the 2024 DANA storm, which marked a significant part of their university education. He encouraged the graduates to confidently face new professional challenges, such as the integration of artificial intelligence, while always maintaining a critical perspective.
Representing the student body, Diego Cáncer and Adrián Albarracín reminisced about the shared experiences of these years, the effort required to reach this milestone, and the value of the bonds forged. Their remarks highlighted the personal and academic growth they had experienced.
The ceremony concluded with expressions of gratitude to the faculty and families for their support. The new graduates are now embarking on a new chapter, prepared to address regional challenges and emerging social demands.
