STUDENT PROFILE

Although there are no prerequisites for admission to the Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, it is appropriate for new students to have some prior training that enables them to acquire knowledge, competences and skills directly related to their studies. Other values such as curiosity and knowledge of current affairs are recommended.

It is thus recommended that students possess the following skills (or show predisposition to acquire them):

  • Motivation for the study of Science and willingness to learn about social policies that favour the welfare of citizens.
  • Interest in the prevention of and response to social problems, especially those affecting the rights of people in unprivileged social positions.
  • Ability to respect the diversity of people under conditions of equality.
  • Commitment to the values of social justice and social welfare.
  • Responsible conduct within the ethical and deontological principles of the profession, such as respect for the truth and honesty when collecting and interpreting information.
  • Willingness to search for, select, interpret and analyse texts and documents.
