It is evident that climate change is more and more present in our environment. The biosphere reserve Alto Turia, located in an exceptional natural environment is facing several climate challenges that have endangered its fragile ecological balance. Climate change has intensified periods of drought, increasing the pressure on hydric resources and affecting native flora and fauna. In addition, forest fires have become more frequent and devastating, endangering natural and cultural wealth of the zone.

The main objective of the conference is to raise awareness on the importance of dealing with these objectives and encouraging collaboration between scientists, experts, local communities and public administrations so as to find effective solutions. Through conferences and the roundtable, current and future impacts of drought, fires and climate change in the Alto Turia biosphere reserve will be identified.

We expect that this conference inspires the exchange of knowledge and experiences, and promotes the development of innovative and sustainable strategies for protecting and preserving the biodiversity in this territory. Together, we can work to reduce the negative effects and promote responsible practices that ensure a prosperous future for the Alto Turia and the future generations.
