Cardiovascular diseases remain the leading cause of death in our environment, and research into the mechanisms that cause them, as well as the pharmacological possibilities to modulate these mechanisms, constitute priority research lines at the national and European levels. Our group focuses on two pathologies, hypertension and heart failure, and carries out translational research dedicated to identifying new pharmacological targets and active molecules in these diseases, working with both animal and human models. Additionally, from a healthcare perspective, our activity also addresses research on the rational use of medication in the field of community pharmacy, pharmacovigilance, public health, and related areas.
