Benefits of eInvoicing

The European Commission promotes electronic billing in order to automate some processes and thus save costs to companies. Unifying the standard removes one of the main bureaucratic and legal barriers.

Directive 2014/55/UE Directive 2014/55 / ​​EU establishes the criteria that allow an invoice to comply with the established regulations. Thus, as established by the European Commission, an invoice to be considered as normative has to be received in a structured electronic format, that is to say, that allows its automated and electronic processing.

The directive also establishes which are the essential elements of an invoice and that must appear: process and invoice identifiers, the invoice period, seller information, buyer information, payee information, seller's tax representative information, contract reference, delivery details, payment instructions, allowance or charge information, invoice line item information, invoice totals and VAT breakdown.

As established by the European Union, electronic invoice is the “invoice issued, transmitted and received in a structured electronic format that allows automated and electronic processing”

Thanks to the eInovice, some processes may be automated, saving costs to companies that work with the public sector and to the administrations themselves. In addition, unifying the standard eliminates one of the main bureaucratic and legal barriers.

On April 16, 2019, Directive 2014/55 / ​​EU will enter into force and all European public administrations will be obliged to accept digital invoices following the established European standard, so the adoption of this standard by private companies will confer on them A great advantage over its competitors.

Proyecto POOL-TSPs
The POOL-TSPs Project project will contribute to the promotion of electronic invoicing since, since July 1, it has been working so that the 10 EDI providers that are part of the consortium (Babelway, eConnect, Celtrino, Aksesspunkt, Datajust, Viaduct, IN.TE.S.A., AdValvas, Officient y Unimaze) will  update their electronic billing solutions and adapt them to the European standard.

The 10 PEPPOL Access Points operated by the project beneficiaries will be adapted, validated and tested to allow the use of the corresponding EN syntax when exchanging invoices through the access points in accordance with the AS4 eSENS profile.

The Institute of Robotics and Information and Communication Technologies of the University of Valencia coordinates this project with the support of the Spanish company LMT Group.
