Standard EN 16931, published in Spain in October 2017 and which develops the European standard on electronic invoicing, establishes 18 April 2019 as the definitive date for the entry into force of this directive. According to this directive, public entities must be ready to accept electronic invoices in the European format on the established date, which in practice means that their accounting systems must be adapted to a new document format and new contents.

The EUROFACe project, in which the UV participates through the IRTIC, will present at this conference the technological development that has been carried out to adapt the electronic invoice in European format to the Spanish format. The module for translation between labels in both directions has been developed. From the Spanish Facturae format to the European standard (EN) in the required syntaxes (UBL and CII) and the reverse. The FACe platform will integrate this equivalence translator, enabling Spanish public administrations to receive invoices in both standards (EN and Facturae) while maintaining the existing procedures and connections so that only minor updates are required in the administrations' ERP systems and applications.
EUROFACE is funded by CEF (INEA/CEF/ICT/A2016/1330507, INEA-CEF 016-ES-IA-0117). Its objective is to update and adapt the Spanish Government platform to receive e-invoices for public administrations, coming from any company (FACe https://face.gob.es/) so that it meets the requirements of the Implementing Decision (UE) 2017/1870 (L 266/19), EN 16931 in accordance with Directive 2014/55/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council. The EUROFACE project has been developed between 01/09/2017 and 30/11/2018 (extended until 28/02/2019).
