About 40 students of the first and second year of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Psychology of Work, Organizations and Human Resources, coordinated by the University of Valencia, visited the IRTIC facilities on Thursday October 10th. The students, from more than 15 different nationalities, had the opportunity to test augmented reality and virtual reality technologies applied to psychology.

The co-director of the master's degree, Nuria Tordera, and the fellow member of the general coordination team and director of the Research Institute of Personnel Psychology, Organizational Development and Quality of Working Life (IDOCAL), Isabel Rodríguez, accompanied the students.

The students saw firsthand the capabilities of the Visionarium, one of IRTIC's interactive projection rooms, as well as the CAVE single-person immersive visualization system, which features 3D localization systems and projection on three side screens and the floor. They learned about the innovative uses of virtual reality headsets as well.

They also entered the Pictogram Room, used to develop, among other programs, educational video games designed to work on key areas of the development of children and adults with autism. IRTIC researchers showed them, in addition, the VISIBLE-US ultrasound simulator for training from cadaver sections.

IRTIC and IDOCAL collaborate on projects such as Digylid, focused on, among other issues, the development and evaluation of a web-based training program and a mobile application to improve telework leadership skills.

The ultimate goal of Digylid is the improvement of teleworkers' performance and well-being, so it addresses the concern in Europe about the ability of societies, companies and workers to respond to the process of digitalization and the use of new forms of work such as telework.
