Registration is now open for the ChemiNova Summer School 2026

The European ChemiNova project has announced the opening of the application period for its 2026 Summer School, an interdisciplinary training program aimed at equipping students and emerging professionals with the skills to use innovative technologies for the preservation of cultural heritage. These free seminars will take place from June 9 to 12, 2026, and will combine three days of online sessions with no enrollment limit, featuring lectures and discussions led by international experts, with a one-day in-person practical session limited to 12 selected participants, to be held at the ImViA Lab at the Université Bourgogne Europe (France).

The detailed schedule of sessions will be released next week. The training is aimed at technical and humanities professionals, including those in engineering, digital technologies, audiovisual communication, materials chemistry, architecture, and conservation; interested parties can view the preliminary program and register via the official link available on the project website: https://cheminova.eu/cheminova-summer-school-2026-bourgogne-france/

Participation in the Summer School is completely free, and because the University of Valencia is a member of the FORTHEM Alliance, its students can apply for Erasmus+ mobility grants to cover travel and accommodation expenses in Burgundy.

One of the cornerstones of these sessions is the application of digital innovation in conservation. Participants will gain first-hand insight into the solutions developed as part of the project, such as ChemiPortal and ChemiTools, as well as receiving specific training in RTI (Reflectance Transformation Imaging) methodologies and remote monitoring tools.

The programme also includes a slot for the “Green Cluster”, a session dedicated to sister European projects (ARGUS, NERITES and IPHOTOCULT), where the latest advances in technological research aimed at protecting monuments and materials affected by climate crises and conflicts will be presented.
