The Robotic Surgery Innovation Conference, focusing on the SIRA project, will be held on Wednesday, February 25th, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the General Hospital of Valencia. The event will bring together healthcare professionals, researchers and companies, with innovation in robotic surgery as the common thread.
The SIRA (Intelligent Anatomical Recognition System for Robotic Surgery) project is developing an artificial intelligence system that will recognise organs and foreign objects in real time during robotic surgery to improve the accuracy and safety of procedures. Robotic surgery is one of the pillars of the evolution of surgical practice in recent years. The integration of cutting-edge technologies, robotic support systems and artificial intelligence is facilitating improvements in precision, safety and clinical outcomes, while creating new opportunities in the field of surgery.
SIRA is the result of collaboration between the University of Valencia, through the Institute on Robotics and Information and Communication Technologies (IRTIC), the Research Foundation of the General University Hospital of Valencia (FIHGUV) and the technology company Lãberit.
