The LOD-RoadTran18 partners have developed a model that includes ontologies and vocabularies to be used in the context of linked open traffic data, taking into account service-related metadata. In addition, its members have also designed and created an interface that allows data to be queried in a uniform way.

In the first case, the model has been tested on a small scale on several datasets. Tools for model conversions, adaptations and validations have also been developed and specific attention has been paid to the geospatial characteristics of the traffic data.

In addition, a linked open traffic data model has been defined, created and tested based on the DATEX II model combined with the results of the analysis of the traffic data LOD projects previously carried out during the initiative. Semantic validation tools have been developed together with automatic conversion and manual mapping tools to provide a smooth transition from the DATEX II model to the linked open traffic data model.

As for the second work, it has involved a definition and testing of interfaces to ensure that end-users and information providers can access structured data formats and develop new services. Moreover, a technical proposal for an actionable LOD Traffic Information System (TIS) at the scale of intervention required in the project partners' member states has been made.

In Spain, a LOD-competent TIS, complete with metadata and interfaces, has been planned for development in future project activities. For Spain and the Czech Republic, a platform has been developed to obtain data from different TIS, enrich it with LOD capabilities and make it available for further reuse, as well as a testing platform to handle, enrich and relay the content.

This project aims to support the reuse of dynamic road traffic data in the Czech Republic and Spain, to make the European data portal FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable) and to connect it with any other sector data using LOD. It is co-funded by HaDEA and coordinated by the University of Valencia with the technical assistance of LMT Group.
