The legal process to become self-employed in Spain is complicated and it is sometimes difficult to provide prospective entrepreneurs with all legal and official information in an understandable and easy way. In an attempt to improve the way in which future self-employed workers start their business venture, the department for self-employment at FOREM Andalucía suggested us to develop an interactive and simple game to provide all this information in a fun way.

The following technology was used for its development:

• 3D interactive environments based on Papervision and Flash.
• Interactivity, official fillable forms, presentation of the legal information and interactive assessment games developed in Flash, Flex and XML.
• Chroma Key technology to record the virtual tutor who explains all the information and helps users during the entire game.
• Integration of avatars in the environment, representing the user.
• Use of the COLLADA format for models corresponding to the environment and avatars.
• Integration of sound for the tutor’s explanations and lipsynching.
