The Dr Robert A. Roe was proposed for the mentioned merit among others by the research institutes of Road Safety (INTRAS), of Women’s Studies, of Human Resources Psychology, of Organisation Development and of Quality of the Work Life (IDOCAL), and by the Interdisciplinary Research Structure (ERI) of the Reading and passed by the Governing Council on 24 July 2014.
Robert A. Roe has done a historical overview of its discipline, and has concluded: “If we consider that scientific psychology did not started until one hundred and forty years ago, we cannot but conclude that its development has been impressive. The number of psychological publications, the number of researchers and professional psychologists, of students and the number of objects of research, all of them have risen exponentially.” And he has added: “The psychological notions have become popular by entering in the everyday language of the people in the whole world. Furthermore, a huge number of people around the world have directly or indirectly benefitted from the growing of the psychological knowledge.
