Esther Escolano

Dr. Esther Escolano, researcher at INTRAS, leads a round table with other researchers from the Institute in a conference to try to develop new lines of research in the field of mobility and gender perspective.

Esther's role is considered key for INTRAS, not only because of her extensive academic and professional background (among other positions, she has been Spain's representative in the Forum of National Experts of the European Gender Institute - EU and Deputy Director General of Studies at the Institute for Women and Equal Opportunities of the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs), but also because of her leadership and commitment to gender issues, a key aspect for society.

Among other highlights of the meeting, it has become clear that transport in general and public transport in particular can be a barrier to female mobility, and this issue should be especially addressed by universities in order to offer a qualitative leap in the solutions currently implemented.
