Contemporary mobility is experiencing new phenomena, dynamics, and nuances that have not yet been sufficiently addressed by scientific research. This evolution poses significant challenges for road safety, sustainability, and public health, urging us to update our approaches and innovate in research methods, with the aim of having a positive impact on the safety and health of the population, especially the most vulnerable communities and in countries such as Spain.

In this context, the Traffic and Road Safety Institute (INTRAS) is organising the workshop “Road Safety Research in the Service of Sustainability and Health: Emerging Challenges and Methods,” which will take place on Tuesday, December 9, from 12:30 to 14:00, in the Institute’s Multi-purpose Room. The workshop will be delivered by Professor Dr. Alessandra Bianchi, an international expert in road safety, sustainable mobility, and health from the Federal University of Paraná (Brazil), with extensive experience in research, knowledge transfer, and the promotion of health and road safety among different population groups. Professor Bianchi specialises in the development and application of innovative methods to address these challenges, integrating sustainability and equity perspectives into her projects.

This workshop has been co-funded by the project PID2023-152606OA-I00 (MICIU / FEDER, EU), and the invitation is extended to all members of INTRAS and the university community, including faculty, students, research staff, technical staff, and administrative and service personnel.
