Dr. Francisco Alonso, Director of INTRAS, attended the event to celebrate the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, which was held in Valencia on December 15, 2024.

Since October 26, 2005, the UN General Assembly declared the third Sunday of November as the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.

This day seeks to raise awareness about road violence, promote accident prevention and show solidarity with the victims and their families.

Since then, in many cities around the world, this day has been used to remember and commemorate all those killed and run over on the road, whether they are drivers, pedestrians, cyclists or any other person who has suffered the so-called Road Violence.

In Valencia, the events were suspended out of respect for the victims of the floods caused by the DANA that devastated several parts of the province last October 29, moving them to the third Sunday of December.
