On December 19, 2018, the act of defending the doctoral thesis was held at the University Institute for Traffic Research and Road Safety of the University of Valencia (INTRAS): “Assessment of the risk factors, behaviors and road accidents of vulnerable users: The case of cyclists "led by Dr. Francisco Alonso Pla and Dr. Luis Montoro González.

The tribunal composed by Francisco Tortosa Gil (president), Cesáreo Fernández Fernández (vocal) and Ángel Egido Portela (secretary) agreed to grant the rating of "outstanding cum laude".

Dr. Sergio Useche Hernández holds a degree in psychology from the National University of Colombia.

Currently, he works as a research at the Research Institute of Traffic and Road Safety of the University of Valencia (INTRAS).
