CAMP-sUmp (CAMPus sustainable university mobility plans in MED areas) is a European research project co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund aimed at improving urban sustainable mobility planning instruments such as SUMP (Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan), through innovative mobility strategies for students' flows within the MED Area University Campus and its integration with urban areas. Together for sustainable mobility, this is the slogan of the CAMP-sUmp project, designed with the aim to improve mobility in the Mediterranean area. It lasts 18 months and ends on April 30, 2018.
The CAMP-sUmp project is featured by a partnership of seven Mediterranean Universities, including Magna Graecia University Foundation, Universities of Athens, Valencia, Cyprus, Split, Malta and Bologna.
Proposing new and innovative ways for students’ flows inside the universities’ campus and their integration with the urban areas in the Mediterranean northern sea basin regions is the main goal of the CAMP-sUmp project.
Each project partner will analyze its framework site in order to obtain a defined state of art of data, policies and planning instruments with regard to mobility to/from/inside the Campus and its integration with urban mobility. A transnational action plan for university sustainable mobility plan will be drawn and implemented including a road map for decision makers, an ICT model.
