The Faculty of Economics develops a free platform that simplifies the preparation of sustainability reports for SMEs

The Faculty of Economics of the University of Valencia has developed Report for Good, a digital platform designed to facilitate the strategic management of sustainability in organisations of any size and sector, with a particular focus on small and medium-sized enterprises. The initiative, promoted by professors Tomás F. González Cruz and Pau Sendra Pons from the Department of Business Management Juan José Renau Piqueras and the Department of Accounting, respectively, has been developed through a project funded by the Valencian Institute of Competitiveness and Innovation (IVACE+i).
The main value of Report for Good lies in its ability to provide homogeneous and comparable information on sustainability performance, integrating the economic, social and environmental dimensions in a structured manner. The platform enables organisations to carry out an initial diagnosis and to prepare sustainability reports efficiently, reducing the technical complexity that typically characterises these processes.
Designed as an online, free and open-access tool, Report for Good responds to a particularly pressing need for SMEs, which often lack the resources and capabilities required to produce rigorous and consistent sustainability reports. The platform prioritises an intuitive user experience, aimed at non-expert users, without compromising methodological robustness or alignment with recognised standards.
Another distinctive feature is its dynamic and flexible nature. The platform is continuously updated in line with the evolution of sustainability benchmarks and allows generating reports that are tailored to the demands of different stakeholders based on a shared core set of information.
Report for Good is based on the indicator system of the Register of Socially Responsible Valencian Entities (SIR Register), promoted by the Valencian Regional Government, and incorporates internationally recognised regulatory and reference frameworks. In this way, the platform is fully integrated into the sustainability ecosystem of the Valencian Community and helps to strengthen the link between sustainability and business competitiveness.
