The UV Music Club have presented the regular programme of the season, from 1 April to 18 June, in different emblematic university spaces, such as the Chapel of the historical building of the Universitat de València, the Botanical Garden and the Muralla Hall of the Rector Peset Hall of Residence. This year, the spring cycle will offer more than twenty concerts that started on Tuesday, 1 April, with an ensemble of cellos from the UV Philharmonic Orchestra (OFUV)

Tickets for the concerts are always free and are booked on https://events.fundacio.es/o/40 opening 72 hours before the day of the concert, except the performances at the Joan Plaça Auditorium which are free until seating capacity is reached.

In the words of the one in charge of the initiatives of UV Music Club, Phd Guillem Escorihuela, in this programme “we put emphasis on the musicians who are a part of our Orquestra putting faith in young university courage”, but also professional music has a place in and which people will be able to hear throughout the term.

The season opened, on Tuesday, 1 April, the ensemble of cellos of the OFUV at the Joan Plaça Auditorium of the Botànic, while the Quartet Amber will perform on 4 April, as well as the UV Orquestra, at Rector Peset Hall of Residence.

In the professional section, on 2 April, the Sapiència Chapel of La Nau Cultural Centre will host the interpretation of Professor Robinson Giraldo, who comes from the Industrial University of Santander, Colombia, to offer a bass trombone and piano concert; on 8 April, Professor Jonathan Mesonero, member of RTVE Symphony Orchestra, will present his record ‘Trascendo’ for violin only at the Rector Peset Hall of Residence; and on 9 April, the speaker in charge María Ordiñana will make public the record ‘En primera persona’ at the concert and after Luis Vallés will play the piano and José Manuel Sánchez, tenor singer, will sing at the concert.

The Botanical Garden of the Universitat de València will be the stage for vocational education with a concert for strings on 11 May from Quartet Ànima; while on 16 May, the session will start a discussion on ‘Music and politics in 18th century Spain’ to continue with the musical project of Professor Xavier Andreu ‘Vents de revolució: Música i política a l’Espanya del segle XIX’ with the Simfònica del CIM de Benimaclet.

This month includes a concert at the Chapel of La Nau, in collaboration with the Equality Unit of the Universitat de València, titled ‘Una vetlada al palazzo dels Caccini’ and performed by the soprano Mariví Blasco and Fran López playing the theorbo.

On June, Turab Ensemble will close the programme with a concert which is, according to Guillem Escorihuela, “important for two reasons: on one hand, because of the formation of the quintet mixing wind and piano and, on the other hand, because of the performance of authors such as Gershwin, with fresh American music”, ideal for saying goodbye to spring and welcoming summer.
