The Conference is aimed at students of medicine, nursing, biochemistry, biotechnology or computer science interested in scientific research and provides a first access to the professional field. In addition to making visible the role of researchers in the biomedical area, the meeting aims to promote international scientific communication by reviewing the commitment and responsibilities of the research staff with the rest of the society.

Among other contents, students will be able to carry out workshops on electron microscopy, search for new drugs, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, echocardiography or endovascular therapy. At the conference visits will be allowed so the participating students learn about techniques and facilities of centres of interest in Valencia. There is also an oral communication contest and posters, another science dissemination contest and, as a novelty of this edition, a science art contest.

Speakers of reference participate in the CIB in areas such as the isolation and detection of viruses (Pilar Domingo-Calap), neurobiological alterations (Carmen Agustín Pavón), HIV infections (Lucía Bailón Álvarez) or affective disorders (Jerónimo Saiz Ruiz). The closing lecture will be given by Federico Pallardó on rare diseases.
