The Universitat de València, through the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation, and in collaboration with the Sports Department of the Provincial Council of Valencia, shows the main types of the local sport present in the Valencian territory from the contributions of thirty researchers from the UV and other popular outreach specialists, through the exhibition “Deporte tradicional valenciano y Territorio” (Traditional Valencian sport and Territory). In this pioneering exhibition on the importance of the traditional Valencian sport, the modalities of Valencian pilota (galotxa, cepillo, largas,…) are addressed from many points of view: historical, cultural, architectural, athletic, educational, etc. Similarly, other local sports are addressed as part of the Valencian cultural heritage (lateen, Corregudes de Joies -horse racing- and horse pulling), as well as the traditional Valencian games in different spaces, specially those from the inland regions. Also amateur athletics from popular racing circuits, la Volta a Peu (Walk around Valencia) or athletics clubs have a space in this exhibition. Openning on 4 June, 13:00
