The UVEG develops the Universitat i Societat programme, aimed especially at students from the municipalities of the province of Valencia and its surroundings. It is aimed at people aged 30 or over with an interest in learning and motivation for culture. It is implemented through a multidisciplinary itinerary of 120 hours per academic year. Each course is divided into two semesters and two core subjects are taught in each semester. The main objective of this programme is to raise awareness in society at large of the value of lifelong learning, especially by highlighting and appreciating the valuable contribution that older people make to society.

In addition to classroom training, there is also training through field trips or specialised visits. These are organised by the vice-rectorate and are offered to Universitat i Societat students under the guidance of a lecturer specialising in the subject to be covered (visits to museums, exhibitions, historical and industrial sites, etc.).

The training is complemented by a series of lectures per course, on a variety of topics. Each lecture lasts approximately 50 minutes, followed by a 30-minute (maximum) question and answer session. The lectures are open to the general public.

Students who have attended the lecture will receive a certificate of attendance. The lectures are held approximately once a month. They are open to the general public. They are held in collaboration with the local councils.
