Vicent Martínez

Vicent Martínez's generosity from the donation of his legacy has been one of the main driving forces behind the birth of the Valencian Archive of Design.

Vicent Martínez is a graphic and industrial designer specialised in residential and collective furniture and equipment. Trained at the EASD School in Valencia and at the Escola Massana in Barcelona, he currently works as an independent designer from his studio in the city of Valencia.

He co-founded the company Punt Mobles in 1980, a leading Spanish and international design company, and worked there as a designer and general manager from its foundation until 2011, when the company was acquired by an investment group.

He has been awarded a number of important prizes, including the Spanish National Design Award 1997 in the company category. He gives courses at the Elisava school in Barcelona and the CEU- Universidad Cardenal Herrera in Valencia.

His designs are included in publications, private collections and the permanent collections of the Museu del Disseny, Barcelona, Museum fur Angewandte Kunst in Cologne and the Staatliches Museum Für Angewandte in Munich.
